Adjudicator: Elsie Hoover

Elsie Hoover is a highly skilled musician who is passionate about teaching music. She has a Bachelor of Music in Organ and Piano Performance from King’s University (2017), a Church Music Diploma, and extensive RCM training in voice and recorder. The recipient of several local and international scholarships and competitions, Elsie’s talent and dedication has lead her to numerous performance opportunities in Edmonton and beyond. She has performed alongside well-known Canadian musicians such as Dr. Leanne Regehr and Jihwan Cho and studied with renowned music teachers such as Dr. Leonel Morales, Dr. Daejin Kim and Craig Humber in Austria. She has also competed in the Northern Alberta Concerto Competition, the Canadian Music Competition and was the recipient of a Winspear Fund grant, the Johann Strauss Foundation scholarship, and the Gerry Segger scholarship for Performance Excellence. Recently, Elsie served as Junior Piano Adjudicator for the Alberta Rotary Music Festival (2017) and is currently an Alto intern for Pro Coro Canada. She also spends her days accompanying soloists and choirs all over Edmonton and area and recently performed alongside the Edmonton Metropolitan Orchestra. With over seven years of teaching experience, Elsie has a unique ability to bring out the best in her students. Many of her students perform in the community, compete in local music festivals and RCM examinations.
